European universalism by Immannuel Wallerstein.
By Tony George
A Book I recently read is the "European universalism" by Immannuel Wallerstein. This book approaches both the idealistic construing of a better world and the realistic ways that international affairs are established nowadays. The author remarks that until now, the prevailing ideas of a better world today correspond to a eurocentric vision of human evolution and takes into little account development standards other than the dominant in western contexts. Even so, Wallerstein believes that new social and organizational movements around the world are creating distinct networks through which people and products circulate, producing competing markets and globalizations. |
